I have been swimming alot in my training for a triathlon and I found the little plunger type plugs to be uncomfortable and not all that functional. These worked great and felt very comfortable. It takes alittle bit to get the hang of how they fit, but they have worked great for me. As far as durability, well I can't speak to that yet.
